And just like that, it's over! Unbelievable... Both concerts were huge successes and I've been lucky to have the opportunity to perform such thrilling music (all to be performed again soon in Minneapolis on May 12 at the Lake of the Isles Lutheran Church).
Getting to meet and work with American composer Joan Tower was phenomenal! After a brief rehearsal with her solo piano piece "Ivory and Ebony (2009)" on Friday morning (still exhausted from the marathon performance of the night before), Joan and I went to lunch together and chatted about future performances, composition, and the state of classical music in America. The performance was a huge success and I hope to continue playing her pieces far into the future - what a talented composer!
Thanks to all who were in attendance Thursday and Friday nights - more music sharing soon!
